West Ashley (literally West of the Ashley River) is a large neighborhood of the City of Charleston. West Ashley has stretches of land along the river and marshes and there are historic properties to visit including Magnolia Plantation, Middleton Place, and Charles Towne Landing. There are plenty of residential neighborhoods scattered throughout the area and it’s easy to find one that you will love!  One of the biggest perks of this area of town is the Greenway, over eight miles of mostly-paved trails, perfect for morning jogs or evening bike rides. West Ashley is also home to restaurants, breweries, and some select ‘Big Box’ retailers, so you won’t need to drive far to get what you need!
