Johns Island is the largest island in the state and surrounded by other barrier islands. This 84-square mile area is home to about 14,000 residents. Home to the famous Angel Oak Tree, the drive throughout the island is done so underneath a canopy of oak trees, draped in Spanish moss. This area is also home to many local farms and has a more rural feel as you get away from the central roads. It’s definitely a quieter part of the Charleston area and is home to an array of wildlife. Homes on Johns Island can vary greatly, but the common element is the ability to have larger parcels of land. Don’t miss the new developments right over the bridge that offer a great proximity to other parts of Charleston and great neighborhood amenities.
